      This works well, Darial. For vocal music, the text goes below the staff and the expression markings go above the staff.

Compose an 8-measure duet for two of the same instruments (two trumpets for example). Focus on creating a moment where there are two distinct, contrasting parts using range, dynamics, and articulations to emphasize the difference and a moment where the two instruments blend into one another.
