Compose a 12-measure melody for a single line instrument using only pitches found in the octatonic 01 collection (OCT01: C,C#,D#,E,F#,G,A,Bb). Include dynamics and articulations to add expression to your melody.

      I'd change those 3/4 measure to 6/8 instead. Works better with your music.

Compose an 8-measure duet for two of the same instruments (two trumpets for example). Focus on creating a moment where there are two distinct, contrasting parts using range, dynamics, and articulations to emphasize the difference and a moment where the two instruments blend into one another.
