Congratulations on composing the entire semester! To celebrate, share a piece of music that you worked on this semester that you are proud of.
Join our Bradley Composition community in Final Bar Line Frenzy this summer. Our goal is to collectively reach 100 final bar lines (completed pieces) this summer! Once you complete a composition, comment on this post. Tell us the title, instrumentation, and provide a link to the piece if possible. Also include the number out of 100 in your comment to help us track our progress. For example, the first person to comment on the post would add 1/100, the second person would add 2/100, etc. What constitutes a completed piece for Final Bar Line Frenzy? It can be an original composition, an arrangement, a transcription, a fixed media piece, a project created in a DAW, a multimedia project, a multi movement piece, or a collection of short pieces. Use your discretion, but think of this as a completed piece that is of a quality that you would be happy to present in composition lessons, is ready for performance, and would be ready to send off to a publisher or feature on au...
I know you all got to see this at the concert, but this was my first major composition project, so it's probably what I feel most proud of at the moment.

For those who don't know, I've been scoring a new musical over the past 6 months and I've been finalizing songs in my lessons. Here is my favorite piece of the show!
The piece I'm most proud of this semester is my first piano "concerto". It's fully orchestrated for orchestra, but I'll be doing a wind ensemble adaption soon.

ReplyDeleteThis is the big A section of the large-scale wind symphony I'm writing right now. I started it for orchestration class, but had the intent of it being a bigger thing, so it will likely end up on my portfolio when I am able to get a recording! (it's based off of the hymn "Glory Be to the Father")

ReplyDeleteThis is my concerto for drumset piano reduction (coming to wind ensemble soon). This has been one of the most difficult semesters for me, however, the returns have been huge for my effort. I appreciate everyone's support and encouragement (which I do not take for granted).
My favorite is my woodwind quintet, it came out a lot better than i imagined and it made me so happy to hear it being played.

ReplyDeleteThis piece is one of the daily compositions but I felt like I really experimented with many instruments for this one and I like how it turned out.
